American soprano Lauren-Rose King is a versatile and charismatic musician whose repertory ranges from opera to operetta, oratorio and musical theater. Recently, Lauren-Rose performed with the Pittsburgh Camerata and Chatham Baroque for their 2016-2017 season and was featured as a soloist in Handel's Messiah, Handel's Chandos Anthems and A Chorus Divided. On the Musical Theatre stage, she played the lead of Catherine in Pittsburgh's Stage Right's production of Pippin. She sings regularly with several all professional ensembles: Boston Baroque, Bard Festival Chorale and Marble Collegiate Choir. That season she was featured in the Bard Music Festival's Puccini and his World Program, toured Poland with Boston Baroque singing the Monteverdi Vespers, and sang on NYC's Carnegie Hall stage with the American Symphony Orchestra/Bard Festival Chorale and Marble Collegiate Choir.

Lauren-Rose loves collaborating with living American composers, and at the start of 2016 sang the lead role of Mary Jo in Ellen Mandel's Cabaret Opera, Passion in Pigskin at the Cornelia Street Cafe in NYC. In May of 2015, Lauren-Rose joined the prestigious Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar under American Mezzo-Soprano, Stephanie Blythe and collaborative pianist, Dr. Alan Smith. There she worked with Ricky Ian Gordan and performed his compositions in recital and concert. During the summer of 2014, she traveled to Los Angeles as a Professional Artist in the SongFest Program. She worked with the following famous American composers, Libby Larsen, John Musto, Jake Heggie, and performed their repertoire in various concerts and recitals. Lauren-Rose was also featured in the project, Songs in the Key of LA, a Hollywood themed concert that toured the L.A. area. She was a 2013 National Finalist in the Young Artist Division Classical Singer Competition, and was awarded a full tuition scholarship to SongFest 2014. King received her Masters in Opera Performance from the esteemed Maryland Opera Studio where she studied with Linda Mabbs. Her 2012-2013 repertoire with the Opera Studio included Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote and Musetta in La Boheme. During the 2009-2010 season, she was heard as Yum-Yum in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado at Cohoes Music Hall (Albany, NY) and also at the historic Colonial Theater (Pittsfield, MA) with C&R Productions. Lauren-Rose made her debut with the New York regional theater company in 2009, performing Johanna in Sondheim's Sweeney Todd, in which she was described as "delicious to both hear and watch" (Berkshire Fine Arts). In October 2010, Lauren-Rose sang the role of Le Feu in Ravel's L'enfant et les sortileges with Pocket Opera of New York at the Bechstein Piano Centre in midtown Manhattan. In November, Lauren-Rose performed the role of Margot Bonvalet in Light Opera of New York's production of Sigmund Romberg's The Desert Song, in which she "delivered consistently striking work" and "her 'Romance' and 'Sabre Song' were especially satisfying" (Harry Forbes). In January of 2011, Lauren-Rose sang the role of Soeur Constance in Poulenc's Dialogues des carmélites with One World Symphony in Brooklyn Heights under the direction of Sung Jin Hong.
In April 2010, Lauren-Rose was the soprano soloist in Schubert's Mirjams Siegesgesang, Schubert's E-flat Mass, and the Mozart Coronation Mass with The Nashoba Valley Chorale in Littleton, MA. In 2008 and 2009, she was invited to College Light Opera Company (CLOC) in Falmouth, Cape Cod, where she performed the roles of Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, Lady Jacqueline Carstone in Me and My Girl, Charlotte Cardoza in Titanic, Magnolia in Show Boat (CLOC premiere), Gianetta in The Gondoliers, Phyllis in Iolanthe, and Mrs. Nordstrom in A Little Night Music. Lauren-Rose also performed Canteloube's Chants d'Auvergne with the NEC Symphony Orchestra as the winner of New England Conservatory's Concerto Competition in 2008. The following year, she took first place in the 2009 NATS Boston Chapter competition and received the award for Best French Art Song. Other operatic roles that season included Dew Fairy in Hansel and Gretel, Laetitia in Old Maid and the Thief, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, and Madame Altina in Pasatieri's La Divina. Lauren-Rose received her Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance in 2008 from New England Conservatory, where she studied with Carole Haber and was the recipient of the William David Brohn Musical Theater Scholarship.
