Lauren-Rose King
I am a NYC based freelance performer, music educator and actor. I have my Masters in Opera Performance from University of Maryland's Opera Studio and a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory (Musical Theatre Scholarship recipient).
My love of performing and teaching stems from my creative and musical upbringing, a lifetime of lessons, hard work and the thirst to effectively communicate our shared human experience through the beauty of music and theater. My journey in performing has landed me lead roles in Pippin, La Boheme, The Magic Flute, Sweeney Todd, The Mikado, some competition wins, solos in Baroque oratorio and cantatas and collaborations with some amazing contemporary composers (Ricky Ian Gordon, Libby Larsen, Ellen Mandel, Jake Heggie, and John Musto). I have performed with and toured nationally and internationally with the Grammy Nominated Boston Baroque since 2008. The past handful of years has found me focusing on building my private voice and piano studio on Long Island, performing concert and operatic repertoire at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, performing at the Bard Music Festival for several summers and singing at the historic Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan.
